Description:
The Centre intégré de cancérologie de Laval (Laval's integrated cancer centre, CICL) deployed a specialized electronic health record (EHR) for cancer to automate care coordination and operationalize systematic treatment plans. The objective of this study was to analyze the impacts of implementing an EHR specifically for cancer, which were measured in terms of wait times between different stages in treatments offered to cancer patients. Analysis suggests that wait time for cancer treatments in hemato-oncology and radiation oncology improved following deployment of the new EHR.
