Director of eHealth, First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM)
Jonathan is a member of Skownan First Nation. He is a Project Management Professional, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) specialist, and Certified Professional Trainer. In his role at the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba, his priority is advancing digital health in First Nations. Jonathan volunteers for various community organizations and events and is a single dad to three teenage sons.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian, growing up in Skownan First Nation we were surrounded by live stock and wild animals, which I cared for the sick and injured.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I am very passionate about my people (First Nations of Canada and around the world), also very passionate about technology. This job allows me to bring the 2 worlds together to improve the quality of care for First Nations citizens.
What are you looking forward to most about the Partnership Conference?
I am looking forward to learning of all the great advancements in digital health and bringing what is modern and new to our First Nation communities.
