Streamlining documentation and reducing administrative burden for primary care clinicians.

What is an AI Scribe?

AI scribes are digital tools powered by artificial intelligence and natural language processing that assist clinicians by transcribing and summarizing patient interactions in real-time. AI scribes reduce the administrative burden on clinicians by automating repetitive tasks such as documenting patient visits, updating medical records, and summarizing treatment plans.

Program Overview

Enrollment is now open! Eligible primary care clinicians can now begin the registration process by visiting our national AI Scribe Program website, selecting their province or territory to determine eligibility and access to the tools available in their area.

Program implementation is delivered in close collaboration with provinces and territories, with availability, access, and execution varying by jurisdiction. This ensures the program supports the realities of care delivery across Canada while maintaining alignment with national goals.

Over 10,000 primary care clinicians across Canada have registered for a fully funded AI scribe license.
Backed by federal investments, the AI Scribe Program delivers measurable results and demonstrates what is possible when innovation meets healthcare. It is reducing documentation burden, easing cognitive load, and giving clinicians more of what matters most: time with their patients.
