Webinar: Results of a Multi-Country Survey on Approaches to AI in Health Care

February 18, 2021

March 4, 2021 | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. ET

Canada has been a pioneer in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and Canadians have already benefitted from the investments and advancements that AI has brought to the delivery of health care. A recent CIFAR report on AI for Health, Building a Learning Health System for Canadians noted that AI can deliver benefits to the health care system in three primary ways: improving the effectiveness, efficiency and safety of health service delivery; providing insights to inform both disease prevention and policies addressing broader population health determinants; and underpinning the discovery of new diagnostic tools and treatments.

Canada, however, is not the only country investing in AI for health care. The Global Digital Health Partnership commissioned the NHS AI Lab to explore the use of AI-driven technologies for health care across over a dozen member countries, to understand their policy and regulatory approach and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the use of AI in health. The report, AI for Healthcare: Creating an International Approach Together, was published in December 2020.

Join us as we explore the approach to the commission, what was learned from speaking with GDHP member countries and present a set of policy recommendations to the international health community for addressing the development and implementation of AI in health care.
