The Connected Care Clinical Student Scholarship, offered by Canada Health Infoway, is designed to support clinical students pursuing education or certifications in digital health fields by providing up to $5,000 per student. Eligible programs can include topics such as interoperability, electronic health records, health informatics, health data analytics, and other areas that blend healthcare with technology.

The purpose of the scholarship is to support and empower students pursuing education in digital health, interoperability, and connected care. By providing financial assistance, the scholarship aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of future healthcare professionals, fostering innovation and accelerating the adoption of interoperable digital health solutions that contribute to the advancement of Canada’s healthcare system.

Applicants must be one of the following:

1. Currently enrolled in clinical training from an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada;
2. Recently graduated from a clinical training program within the last three years from an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada; or
3. Currently enrolled in a residency/fellowship program or clinical placement.

The scholarship offers up to $5,000 to help cover the costs of digital health educational programs.

Eligible students can complete the application form and submit it before the deadline of 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 22, 2024.

Applications are open from Oct. 17 to Nov. 22, 2024. Successful recipients will be notified in the third week of December.

Students will be required to submit a paper outlining their experience in the program and may be asked to participate in any communication and marketing initiatives. More details on these requirements will be provided after the scholarship is awarded.

We support a wide range of programs, including short online courses, advanced certifications, and degree programs that focus on digital health material. Applications are more likely to be successful when the program is facilitated/taught by reputable organizations (e.g., accredited post-secondary institutions).

We prioritize applicants who focus on interoperability and connected care content. However, all applicants with a strong digital health focus are encouraged to apply.

Yes, international students can apply as long as they are enrolled in a Canadian accredited post-secondary institution.

No, the scholarship is meant to cover tuition, course materials, and other educational expenses that support participating in the program. It cannot be used for personal living expenses.

No, you cannot apply if you have received funding from another scholarship for the same program or course.

Yes, a resume is required that outlines your educational and/or professional experience. A cover letter is not required.

There is no minimum GPA requirement.

No prior experience is necessary, but it is beneficial. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who demonstrate a genuine interest in the field and a desire to learn.

No. There is no interview process.

No. Applicants must start their program by May 2025.

In exceptional circumstances, we may allow you to defer the scholarship to the next program start. You’ll need to provide a rationale and documentation explaining the delay.
