"I am pleased to recognize the 2016 LEADing Practice award recipients for their tremendous efforts in leading the implementation of digital health to improve outcomes, patient engagement, and patient safety,” said Michael Green, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway. “Whether it’s through the use of an electronic medical record or an application that engages and empowers patients fully participate in the management of their care, digital health has proven its worth time and again, and I commend these organizations for their leadership to transform health care delivery.”
Each of the five recipients recognized by Canada Health Infoway and Accreditation Canada demonstrated how they are supporting new models of care that enhance patient-self management and enable clinicians to work within their full scope of practice. They also showed how they are exemplifying one or more of the five benefit areas of digital health and change leadership in the implementation of their digital health solution. The award recipients were selected by representatives from national professional organizations and a patient representative.
“Congratulations to all these innovative organizations for implementing digital health solutions that improve the patient and provider experience,” said Leslee J. Thompson, President and CEO, Accreditation Canada. “I am pleased to support this initiative, which accelerates the adoption of leading practices for digital health across Canada.”
The award is part of Infoway’s pan-Canadian Clinical Engagement Strategy: Knowing is Better, developed to generate awareness of the benefits of digital health in Canada. Get an overview of this year’s recipients and visit KnowingIsBetter.ca to learn more about the campaign.
