Clinician Change Management
Supporting clinicians with the transition to Connected Care.
Overview
Successful implementation of interoperable digital health solutions and sharing of health data is not only dependent on technology, but also on the willingness and ability of clinicians to adapt to new tools and processes. This shift in behaviour and mindset often relies on change management efforts to prepare and support clinicians.
Our Approach to Change Management
Our comprehensive change management and adoption approach is designed to support the adoption of Connected Care initiatives across key healthcare professions across Canada.
This approach includes the use of core communication resources, implementation and learning supports, incentive programs and knowledge sharing opportunities, and monitoring and evaluation tools to drive implementation and use of interoperable solutions in the health system.
Continuing to Collaborate with Clinicians
It’s essential to get clinicians’ perspectives to understand their unique needs and the needs of their patients, what works best in practice, and to support the adoption of digital technologies and common standards.
To support clinicians through their transition to digital health solutions, Infoway founded the Centre for Clinical Innovation in Digital Health (CIDH), a working group composed of health care providers and digital health experts.
Aligned to the strategic goals of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, the CIDH aims to drive meaningful engagement with clinical leaders; and by doing so, accelerate the adoption of interoperability.
Clinician Change Management Project
Infoway and Healthcare Excellence Canada partnered to launch the Clinician Change Management Project aimed at ensuring clinicians have the tools and training they need to care for their patients virtually. This project involved the development of the Clinician Change Virtual Care Toolkit and the launch of the Virtual Care Together Design Collaborative.
