Connecting and collaborating to create better ways of delivering care.

Connecting the Health Workforce

The more clinicians and the health workforce are equipped to seamlessly integrate technology into their workflows, the more effectively they can collaborate, enhance care delivery, and drive a truly connected healthcare system.

Through various initiatives, we have partnered with clinicians and the health workforce to accelerate the adoption of digital health. From helping to fund the adoption of foundational digital health technologies such as electronic medical records and e-booking solutions, to creating clinician peer networks, to supporting care providers who embraced virtual care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Continuing to Collaborate with Clinicians

Gaining clinicians' perspectives is crucial to understanding their unique needs and those of their patients, identifying what works best in practice, and ensuring the successful adoption of digital technologies and common standards.

To support clinicians through their transition to digital health solutions, we founded the Centre for Clinical Innovation in Digital Health (CIDH), an initiative built by and for healthcare providers and digital health experts.

Aligned to the strategic goals of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, the CIDH aims to drive meaningful engagement with clinical leaders and learners; and by doing so, accelerate the adoption of interoperability.

Clinical Insights

We conduct regular surveys of various clinical groups, such as physicians and nurses, to understand how technology is impacting their work and we consult them as we work with our partners to develop and improve solutions.

Visit Infoway Insights, our interactive data and analytics hub, to explore our recent survey results and learn more about clinical perspectives on the use and impact of digital health information technologies in practice.

Online Communities

Healthcare takes a community — in fact, it takes many. By bringing together many different perspectives from across the health system, we can:

  • Share best practices and build new knowledge
  • Support clinicians to develop expertise and facilitate learning
  • Identify common and unique challenges to digital health adoption and work together to find solutions.

Infoway helps healthcare providers connect and collaborate to develop new solutions and skills, and to participate in the greater good happening in waiting rooms and boardrooms from coast to coast to coast.

Ask a Peer Program

PrescribeIT®, Canada’s national e-prescribing service, is becoming an increasingly important tool for clinicians. The service enables efficient collaboration between prescribers and pharmacists, and ensures patients receive the medication they need safely and securely.

Through our Ask a Peer program, clinicians who are interested in e-prescribing, but are not sure where to start, can connect with fellow clinician experts who have already begun their PrescribeIT® journey.
